Periodontal (Gum) Plastic Surgery

A beautiful smile includes, not just the teeth, but the lips and gums that frame your teeth. Too little gum (recession) or too much gum (a "gummy smile") can ruin the framing and the esthetics of your teeth and smile. If the gum has been lost around a tooth or teeth, we can graft back gum tissue to cover exposed roots, strengthen the gums, and decrease root sensitivity. If you show too much gum, we can reshape the gums with a simple surface procedure (gingivectomy) or, when necessary, an easy procedure to reshape the surface tissue and underlying supportive tissue.
